January 23, 2010 - Welcome Visitors..You made it to our Website . Please take the time to explore our site..We presently operate the largest shelter in Citrus County on the smallest budget. Our residents range from 22 months to 77 years old.The economy is sparing no one in the poor community...Our program is open to the public with no appointment needed. We want you to see how it really is , as the Mission does not focus on the allmighty dollar.. We focus on helping others, as our program is based on fact not fiction... The perfect solution...No..One that is working in very tough times....Yes..We are learning every day.. We prefer action to words.

The new Homeless Veteran's Shelter was approved. We are beginning a capital campaign , and will be moving in February..The new shelter will hold 17 Veterans with full services in Inverness, Florida. It will be staffed by Vets.

We are going green..Our hot water heaters are now solar powered..We are continuing to find ways to save money and the environment..

Every dollar you gives goes directly towards helping the homeless. The Mission is run by the homeless with no paid staff including our Director..We work for God with benefits that are priceless , so your donations are respected here.

The Bates family headed to California today to be back with their family..Thanks to the Veteran's Foundation ,we were able to get them there..The kids were excited to start their new life. We made sure Anthony had plenty of candy for the trip, and we pray for their happiness. To the right is our participation in the Martin Luther King Parade...We were honored to attend.

The Mission helps on average , sixty plus homeless residents of Citrus County each and every day. Our outreach program helps over twenty former Mission residents each week .Over 100 meals are served each day. Countless more in the community receive food from our pantry. We feed all in need..Those without ID or that cannot prove residency are helped. They need food to survive too. Last week alone twelve residents moved on. Some to their own place, some back with family.. None to jail or the woods... Praise God.. Operation Mercy Call helped six in need..

Our Operation Mercy mountain bikes are in the woods daily.. Helping all in need , and directing them to further help.

The Mission in Citrus County Florida consists of two homeless shelters located in Crystal River Florida. Residents are housed in two homes on 1 1/2 acres. Our program provides the homeless with food, clothing and shelter during an incidence of homelessness. The client can access sources of spiritual inspiration, medical help, employment, addiction treatment education, work skill development, anger management, budgeting, education, and further help to resolve the immediate issues leading to their homelessness and develop skills to avoid homelessness in the future.

We do not allow the residents to lay around during the day. Everyone is out by 9 am. You can find our residents on any given day on the job, volunteering at Habitat for Humanity & Citrus United Basket , or at the library seeking jobs utilizing their computer network. Our residents give back as much as possible to the community. We also offer food, clothing, food stamp assistance, and many other services to the homeless and poor who do not reside in the shelter. We try to help all in need when possible.

Please support our friends at Citrus Pest Management and Pepperidge Farm Outlet..They offer great Products and Services at a reasonable price.

We do not force religion as a requirement for shelter, food, or services. It is also not a requirement for employment or volunteers. While we encourage the Gospel , and believe in salvation , we turn away no one in need if possible. Child molesters, or those wanted by the law are the exception..They are turned into the Sheriff ASAP...We encourage all God

loving churches to give our residents spiritual help and guidance as most want the help..We also ask them for transportation when needed. For those who do not want religious teachings...We are to be their light and lead them to Christ through prayer and example..Forcing religion only pushes the less fortunate away..We must show them that God has a plan for their future..

We do not use security cameras , or institutionalized methods. We offer a tough love family home atmosphere. Problems are resolved through Guided Group Interaction which utilizes moderated peer pressure. They can react to each others' comments, draw each other out , ask each other questions you didn't think to ask , build on each others' ideas , spark new ideas , jog each others' memories ,fill in incompletions and gaps in knowledge , nudge each other out of ruts and habitual thinking, persuade each other , and change their opinions.

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for themREPLACEMENT

(1 Peter 5:8-11) Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world. 10 And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you. 11 To Him be dominion forever and ever. Amen.
